Russell Brand's Diddy Party Confession Sparks Wild Reactions

Russell Brand’s most recent tweet is what people are talking about, and not in a good way. The controversial actor and comedian has now gone upon Terrence Howard’s infamous accusation that a man who attends a Diddy party automatically gets his man card revoked by replying in the affirmative that he was indeed invited to a Diddy party. A dull affair, was it? “A dull garden party with some hip-hop tunes awash in the background,” said Brand. Yes, Russell, that is definitely the general picture most of us have of a Diddy party.

The tweet was quite explosive with replies ranging all the way from puzzlement to outright rage. Some went to the lengths of calling him out for being pro-Diddy amid serious charges. Others did not believe him outright. And others showered him with jokes and banter.

“Discipled whom Jesus loved” warned him hard: “Do you know you will account to God for everything you did AND ALSO FOR EVERYTHING YOU SAY NOW?” Oof. For sure, that should just end the conversation. Another reply, from “Guile,” but short and to the point, cast a link with the title “Bad look”-no further explanation seemed necessary.

But there was “Justin Parker,” who’s not taken Brand’s disinterested attitude toward Diddy’s party: “Why is diddy in federal prison right now then and why is he having his goons intimidate witnesses and the people who speak up about it then?” Well, that is a good question. Diddy’s legal issues aren’t hidden, and that whole Downplaying-the-Rumor thing sat with many people awkwardly.

The real flames, of course, were from references to Brand’s own controversies. Tony, however, made it clear: “Hmm, defending a rapist under investigation may be a bit too bold.” Another user, “MG,” seconded that: “Says a guy credibly accused of rape by several women…. Yikes.” Now, that’s rich irony: Brand campaigning against wild party rumors while he himself has some skeletons in the cabinet.

Some replies were full of sarcasm. Brad Simpson chipped in with the utterly relevant question, “But was everyone Jeffrey’d?” and that thumbs reference would always pop up in chats like this. And “Delilah_GenX-FAFO” just went for the throat on this one: “Please, I’m sure by the end of the 90s you already had it up the bum Russell.” Whoa, brutal.

Hardly every reply was an attack, however. ‘Katie Boffey’ jumped in: ‘I Love you. #iStandWithRussellBrand I Trust you Russell.’ But really: such responses were few and far between, while the majority were adamantly against him.

It is just a dramatic continuation in the Brand-lit honeymoon, with him standing in front of the people-worthy arena saying court stuff and others reacting. Funny or provocative, just imagine the guts to admit all that he has put in mouthful contempt. And as reality tells many-a-when the internet forgets, that incident is probably still somewhere on the list of its fake affair statuses.”

What on earth was he hoping to accomplish here? Perhaps it would be best not to joke indiscriminately about Diddy’s parties, considering all his pending legal troubles as well, or you might do well just to steer clear of Twitter altogether. If that is what you really want, it was messy-and are people still not letting it go?
