Walton Goggins Suddenly Ends Interview After Aimee Lou Wood Questions

Walton Goggins shut down a press interview over repeated questions about his White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood, with whom he’s rumored to have a falling out with in the aftermath of the show.

Speaking to the Times UK for his new film The Uninvited, Goggins was asked why — after effusively praising Wood as “the brightest light in every room” on Instagram back in August — the two actors aren’t even following each other on social media anymore.

“I’m not gonna have that conversation,” Goggins said.

Goggins’ American publicist interjected, “We’re not going there, thank you,” while his British publicist prompted, “Next question.”

The discussion then proceeded to focus on The Uninvited before circling back to Wood, with the interviewer bring up his upcoming Saturday Night Live appearance. Goggins, who will host SNL on May 10, applauded the show’s recent MAGA-fied sketch spoofing The White Lotus, despite its “unfunny and mean” portrayal of Wood, as the actress wrote on social media.

(“I don’t mind caricature – I understand that’s what SNL is. But the rest of the skit was punching up and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on,” Wood wrote, adding that SNL later apologized to her over the sketch.) 

When asked about the SNL situation, Goggins again deflected: “There is no conversation to be had about that. Sharing politics on social media — it’s in a vacuum.” Although the publicists again tried to steer the conversation back to The Uninvited, The Times UK’s Ed Potton attempted one more Wood-related query — leading to one of the publicists stopping the interview for good: “We’re going to end it there.”
