Snoop Dogg's daughter Cori Broadus Inspires On World Lupus Day With Strength And Resilience

That gave new power to the observance of World Lupus Day by Cori Broadus. She had this message from her Instagram account she posted recognizing those with lupus, since she had the experience of the disease herself. She shared purple hearts and words of encouragement, which really mixed with her followers, many of whom live the exact same experience every day of those having lupus.

None of this generalized awareness talk interested Cori. She went ahead and shared her own story, reminding us that lupus is much more than just a diagnosis. And judging by the reactions, the message clearly penetrated. @mz.tonka.toi gave a very touching comment saying, “Lupus Warrior here. It’s a daily battle. We got this. LUPUS AWARENESS. We Got This.” Such spirit! That is more than a comment; that is a battle cry. Cori acknowledged her with the prayer hands and hearts; that was a show of solidarity.

Then @ak14141414 went with the obvious-one of the very few celebrities actually using their platforms to bring real awareness to lupus. “Thank you for acknowledging our fight against this,” they wrote. “I’m almost 60 and you and your parents are the only public figures who brought social public awareness about R diagnosis.” Realizing that most celebrities stick to glam shots and brand deals, I think Cori is using her platform to highlight real stuff.

@laura3gee declared her a blessing, after which @mansonmama77 proceeded to her bless wonderfully made; @missalanahoney applauded her for spreading awareness of the cause, while @sandyrose2011 approved the fashion vibe-poodles and all. Because why not? There are times when lupus awareness need not be taken so seriously.

The real highlight, though, was the all-caps praise from @bear_dedais_busy_living: “JAHBLESS QUEEN NIECEY UGOTDAT RESPECT BLESSINGS ALWAYS.” Proper grammar isn’t exactly what this comment is about; it’s about that passion, and that’s the kind of vibe Cori has going for herself.

Really, it was a reminder: these chronically ill people are the very real ones who are fighting and, in some cases, serve as beacons for others. Cori, the actress-cum-makeup-artist, exhumes that journey into a movement, and by the looks of it in the comments, people’s hearts are in it also.

Thus the World Lupus Day was and gone, but the conversation? That just commenced. With such strong voices on top of that and talking loud, you can bet this is going to make noise very soon!
