Jack Quaid Teases New Role As America’s Nutter In Heads Of State

Jack Quaid has released a promo for the action-comedy Heads of State, and people are going wild with all the hype about the character being referred to as “America’s Nutter.” Quaid released a clip in which he introduced his new character, the chaotic Marty Comer, with John Cena and Idris Elba, with the film being released on Prime Video on July 2. According to the reaction, this might be the wildest thing he could ever attempt.

In the clip, Quaid unleashes a full-on, almost sleepless level of madness, yelling some stuff about safety officers and affirming that he is a nut. A user perfectly summarizes it: “That boy is a nut. Maybe he’s America’s nutter.” Which actually is very fair. The caption describes it fully, Marty “America’s Nutter” Comer is here to create some beautiful chaos.

From that point on, the comments flooded in with much hype, mostly concerning the otherworldly pairing between Quaid and Cena. Another fan chimed in, “Bloodsport and Peacemaker finally team up again,” referencing their prior DC roles. Another screamed in all caps: “STOP. NO WAY WE GOT JOHN CENA AND JACK QUAID IN THE SAME MOVIE.” (“For those who do not know, they really did. Along with Idris Elba, the cast is suicidally good.”).

But it is not just the cast these folks are hyped about. Fans are very happy with Quaid’s recent, almost obsessive, performance. “How many movies did you do this year?” one wondered. It’s a high moment for him: between this, Oppenheimer, and some voice acting for My Adventures With Superman.

Not everyone is ready to buy him as an absolute maniac, however: “Jack Quaid is not this dude lol this is getting hysterical,” said a contrarian. And an ardent supporter shot back, “He’s not a nutter? 😞.” The debate is heating up. Could Hughie the wholesome from The Boys really morph into an unhinged patriot? Judging from first footage: so far, yeah.

The international fans feel the heat as well. A Brazilian fan commented, “There’s not enough time to be a Jack Quaid fan hahaha I’m going broke at the movies this year.”@ The mood. With all these projects, plus additional huge summer release plans, wallets around the globe are wiping tears.

Interestingly, a bunch of fans are already campaigning for more Quaid feature superhero roles. “We need Jack in the DCU,” read one comment addressed to James Gunn, making it clear that no matter how nutty the new character is, the fans still want him in spandex. Gunn has yet to respond, but with all the buzz about Quaid? Never say never.

The funniest comment has to come from someone who laid out a very particular dream scenario: “Idris Elba calling you a nutter is what dreams are made of, surely?!” And honestly? That cannot be argued. That’s exactly the classy banter we deserve this year.

Launching just shy of Fourth of July weekend, Heads of State is the perfect setup for some action and absurd patriotism. If the rest of the movie runs on the kind of energy that Quaid puts out yelling safety while being the least safe guy around, then this is either going to be one hell of a ride or a public nuisance. September 2, mark it down – America’s Nutter is coming.
