Kevin Hart has snatched the awards at Cannes Lions and is all set to celebrate them now. The comedian-producer took an Instagram moment to announce the two Gold Lions and one Bronze Lions won by his project, ‘Group Therapy’, thanking AXA and WPP as partners in the process. The documentary, which is out on Amazon Prime at present, tackles the subject of mental health, with comedians casting their struggles into the world, according to Hart, “This is not a comedy show but a real therapy session.”

A snippet that Hart shared gave just the right sense of tone with comedians like Neil Patrick Harris joking about Never Had Group Therapy before, while Hart shares his battles with this very issue, being told at one point, “Get a diagnosis!” and then narrating a crazy episode of craziness in the fight for his own mental health: jumping out of a window on the second floor-of-course, with cling-on Hulk style. And here, in a rather rare moment, the very super-outgoing star lets the guard down and paves a way for what appears to be a very raw conversation about mental health in the entertainment world.

The reactions to the post were overwhelmingly positive, with many notes about how important this project really was. “Amazing” was the comment written for the documentary; another user welcomed that these were indeed very important topics to discuss. Some comments were weirdly amusing, like one that appeared twice-from two different accounts, mind you-of someone wondering if they “look edible”; but mostly, the comments were supportive of Hart’s cause.

Some of these commenters took it very seriously and one gave a very moving and harrowing account of the still happening crisis in Darfur, changing the tone of the comments suddenly. Then another commenter launched into a lengthy religious, um, sermon? The comments ended up being an odd mix of celebration, spam, and solemn entreaties.

Ever since, the post has achieved a few things-sharing the big news about his latest triumph while illustrating how, in a matter of seconds, the social media reaction goes from truly appreciative to downright bizarre. While the pictures largely show off the document-maker, making waves through awards and mental health discussions, If anything, the comments will prove that her place in this world is the one people want to listen to.

Whether it’s the laughter or the truths they hold, ‘Group Therapy’ is knocking on a lot of doors, and that calls for celebration-with or without the Gold Lions.
