Alec Baldwin Shares Heartwarming Tribute To His Brother Stephen Baldwin

On Instagram, Alec Baldwin really dropped an Alec-and-Stephen-Baldwin-worthy love letter-an-utterly hilarious and wholesome sight to behold-giving us a close-up of Stephen smiling as if the funniest, maddest inside joke had just been cracked-with a caption that is just about flush with roasts, calling him “Stoney Rodgers” (an inside Chatsworth joke of some sort), incredibly weird in the most fascinating Bukowski manner, and essentially cool. Weird once more and again thrice, with special emphasis. Priorities.

The picture looks super sibling-y-the boy is smiling mid-laugh, glasses perched on his nose perhaps; he was maybe about to start telling some wild story or actually almost do something very wrong. The ambiance is all so warm and cozy, really reminiscent of a kitchen: there’s a small inset of another human in an obscure corner, perhaps implying some ugly meme-become-video-call. Classic Baldwin chaos.

And then the comment section erupted into an insane binge of nostalgia, confused glances, and love. One commenter was apt, stating that Stephen appeared to be “channeling Barney Rubble,” which is… well, yes. Another chimed in with the iconic Bio Dome days: “makes me laugh so hard I can’t breathe.” Same here. Then one remembered all too clearly that Stephen did appear on Fear Factor and put down a rather believable theory, that he was probably “mega stoned before each challenge.” No evidence for this, but also no lies.

But the actual bigger scandal was one of Baldwin mistaken identity. One commentator with confidence said, “Adam!!! I’ve always been a big fan of Adam,” to be responded with corrections: “No, this is Stephen,” and “Adam Baldwin isn’t one of the brothers.” Cue the well-actually crowd with Baldwin family trees. Meanwhile, someone else thought that for one hot second, Stephen was Gary Oldman-a.k.a., let’s just put that one on the glasses.

Really-nice and deep references entered the fold, with some meeting Stephen back in the day at a Wegmans (random but fine); others shouting out Stephen’s starring role in Threesome as one of their “favorite childhood films”; there was even an enigmatic remark of “I think he’s on the spectrum,” which… okay? But the best was probably from someone in Alec’s family, even replying to “I have to deal with them all” with a crying-laughing emoji. A mood.

Alec’s post became the floodgate for further roasting, someone pointing out that “the irony of Alec calling Stephen ‘Stoney’ while against medical marijuanas.” Also, “Every family’s got a beloved weird one” has to be more universal.

Giving the world not only a picture but also a glimpse into sibling interaction from their least relatable position, weirdness and all. Plus some inside jokes. Somebody please start a Cohesive Bio Dome rewatch? Just saying.
