Following an exciting night in Oakland at which 2,000 strong had jammed in to watch Schwartz and his all-star band of improvisers, he took to social media to express his gratitude. An image, replete with an energetic crowd from the show, started getting enthusiastic comments pleading for a return.

The picture shows Schwartz with a few of the other improvisers, including Lauren Lapkus and Ryan Gaul, who apparently trudged through the show with a broken pinky. It was truly a sight to see: the stage setting, with its ornate ceiling and warm lighting, was just right for an improv evening filled with electric vibes, live and in the moment-anything could have happened really. To legends like Jill Petracek for capturing the magic of that evening, Schwartz gave a huge shoutout.

Reactions came almost immediately. One person wrote, “We LOVED seeing you! Come back to Oakland SOOOOON!!” Another added, “You guys were phenomenal!!! Please come back to Oakland!!!” Basically, there was nothing more the crowd could have asked for.

Not all got what they desired though. One fan was lamenting, “Wish we got the famous handstand character, but a wonderful show nonetheless!” On the other hand, a commenter was fixated on another issue and inquired, “What was up with mustache…?”

A few more are looking at Schwartz’s upcoming gig in Los Angeles with one going, “Looking forward to see you in LA next Saturday.” Meanwhile, those under the spell of the Oakland show remain, with one hilariously insisting that, “Dynamite should have been added to this post,” a reference to Taio Cruz’s 2011 hit, exuding the perfect energy for the evening.

One especially creative one took it a step further, spinning a daydream of a “Dream Band” featuring Schwartz-rock stars Taylor Lautner, Nick Jonas, and the singer of the Pokémon theme song. Safe to say, it was a highly impressionable kind of show.

Closing his post, Schwartz informed his followers of their next tour stop and urged them to grab tickets to the LA show before they sell out. Were it not for the Oakland reception, that would have been hyperbole.

With sold-out crowds, injured yet dedicated performers, and fans begging for an encore, this was pure, and, essentially, unfiltered fun by Ben Schwartz and company. From the looks of things, definite welcome back needs to be yelled from the rooftops on behalf of the show-mustaches, handstands, and all.
