Christina Applegate Hospitalized With Severe Kidney Infection Shares Emotional Update

Actress Christina Applegate is fighting a terrible kidney infection and she is currently admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles, she told in a tearful episode of the Messy podcast. In describing the agony, she had first thought it was her appendix bursting. The upload posted along with the caption showed Applegate in her dark red velvet dress, with eyes full of concern yet vulnerable as she opened up about her health issues.

She began feeling off while visiting family in Europe but chose to wait for her return flight to get herself checked out. Once admitted, she wanted to be tested for everything she could think of so at least she would know! While she was joking during some parts of the podcast, she admitted tearfully: “I’m holding in a bag o’ tears right now. I sometimes fall into the nurse’s arms like a freako, just like crying.”

Just as Applegate has been very outspoken on living with multiple sclerosis, the timing of this health crisis is arriving. Applegate was diagnosed in 2021 and has been politely vocal about the obstacles of autoimmune disease while still working, most notably on the final season of Dead to Me. How this new hospitalization ties into her MS is still unclear, but it surely is something else in her very public journey with health.
