Courteney Cox Tries Her Hand At Drumming To Lil Bieber’s Hit

Other than being a movie legend, she has the kind of moves to dance with her drumming act during the featured performance. Cox casually posted a video of herself trying to drum to Lil Bieber’s “Daisies” and wrote on Instagram with a playfully humble sort of message: “Didn’t get all the beats but fun trying to learn it.” She’s so focused, with that giant happy smile bouncing with every stroke, and with a bit of hair flying along. Such an informal and unfiltered style reminds us of what an adored person Cox is, even decades after Monica Geller stepped into our homes.

The video has the mood of Bieber’s vocals, with Cox mouthing the words, “Kisses like we had catch on my line,” with despair and longing, while drumming away: She jokes that she hasn’t quite mastered it yet-but one wave of exuberant responses poured in. One fan said this was her “favorite thing she’s done to date,” and makeup artist Debra Ferullo said, “You’re just as badass as this song!!!” Nostalgic references started flying: Someone said, “SO THIS IS WHERE JOEY’S DRUM SET WENT………” And another thought aloud, “This is giving Ross and his keyboard energy.”
Some practical-looking tips slipped in there, like drummer Dax Jordan saying to secure the throne to the bass drum so it doesn’t slide away mid-beat, but mostly it was people appreciating Cox sharing the learning curve with them. “It’s fun watching you learn more and more!!” said Sunny Lisa B., a sentiment echoed by fans who had been through some of Cox’s musical exploits before, shall we say, during the lockdown when she was sharing impromptu piano covers?
Then, of course, there were those who still cling to the hope of a semi-reunion, possibly musical in nature.

“Now to get David Schwimmer to join you on the keyboard would be epic,” said Sue Nayna, while Princess Nat tagged Bieber, “Can we please see Courteney on stage with you at some point?!” Whether or not Schwimmer does sign up, this debut already goes down in the win column: raw, joyful and imperfections delightfully human. As DamnitChelsey put it, “I love that you’re living your best life.” And really, how cool is it that this 60-something icon is still learning new things and telling people about her failures? Not cool.
