Elon Musk Unveils New Grok Feature That Turns Images Into Videos

An unconventional feature has just arrived on Grok: an AI assistant as big as the universe, parented by Elon Musk. It will let one long-press an image as Grok does the AI conversion into video. Along with this announcement came a screenshot of the UI where a simple press-and-hold invokes the AI into an image conversion.

In fact, the developer updates feature is causing polar reactions. Some are thrilled to see this feature coming into effect, one saying, “That is pure genius, and surely can add $50 billion market cap to X,” whereas opposers are facing all manner of issues: “Still not working on Android here,” said one user from the Netherlands, and another asked if it requires a premium subscription.

Grok goes on to explain: “That refers to the new X feature: long-press any image on the platform and I’ll use AI to transform it into a dynamic video. Give it a try!”

“Really weird thing to implement,” one detractor said, while another cracked, “Cool! But AI will never stop the stinging of a red jellyfish that slipped inside your hood.”

However, the update piqued MrBeast‘s attention and dragged him into the replies. A couple of users went for MrBeast. One sarcastically gave him, “Just like you are posting random shit videos on YouTube every day.” Another imagined a collab: “Imagine MrBeast doing a vid: 5 days with 5 different CEOs. AND Elon was there.”

Things in the replies suddenly took a very strange turn. One channeled Marcus Aurelius with something about fearing death; another meanwhile accused MrBeast of hiding some murky “truth” that will eventually be “exposed.”

Musk is yet to respond to the back and forth, but I doubt if he’s not, knowing his modus operandi, currently tweaking the feature directly in response to user-side grumbles. Whether this ends up being another groundbreaking enterprise or just a gimmicky shiny thing, one thing is for sure: Musk going all out in efforts to see X stay at the pinnacle of AI integration!

Let’s say you now have installed the newest update; do try out and do not feel shocked if your phone is not able to cope with this processing load on its own. Maybe also avoid pressing any pictures of jellyfish.
