Interfacing between Elba and Cena remains one-of-a-kind in the action-comedy Heads of State, now streaming on Prime Video. It is Guv’thane describing Elba opposed to Cena as a British Prime Minister and a US Prez, and giving worldwide reactions with the bulk of them being posi.

On Instagram, Elba posted a behind-the-scenes shorter clip with the interplay of the characters-the character of Elba launches into a hilariously grand monologue lavishing praise upon his counterpart for his “oh so emotional intelligence,” along with “humility and calmness under pressure” before devolving into hilarious chaotic violence. Elba wrote: “Not every partnership works. Ours? It’s built different.”

Fans latched onto this with enthusiasm, many dubbing it as ‘pure cinema’ and acknowledging the comedic chemistry of the two leads. Another fan commented, “This comedic duo was brilliant casting.” Yet another declared, “Loved every second of the movie, you guys are amazing.” Enthusiasm for the movie was far from being limited to English commenters; there were huge cheers from the Portuguese and Arabic sides: a Brazilian fan exclaimed, “Chefes de Estado, filme maravilhoso” (Heads of State, a wonderful film).

Nevertheless, not all were sold on the idea. An opposing voice termed it “imperialist propaganda,” accusing it of putting a gloss over Western interventionism while closing its eyes to conflicts in the real world. There was nothing in response, and it stood off like a sore thumb amidst a sea of acclaim. One somewhat minor objection was from an observer who disliked the profuse amount of religious expletives being flung around by Cena’s character-but still liked the movie anyway.

Mixed feelings aside, the most prominent frequency here remains the endorsement by popular opinion. It has put all the Elba fans in raptures witnessing him being ushered into a zany comedy role. “If Idris is in it, I’m supporting!” said one fan. Others commended it as hitting “high notes in the action department with humor to match,” and “thrill ride to the end.”

With all its star power, explosive set pieces, and keen wit, Heads of State looks to be making its way straight into the hearts of the masses. Whether it’s the gore-level action or cuckoo-bird buddyism of Elba and Cena, the audience is craving it. Judging from the commentaries, that may just be a partnership built upon Dynamite, at least until their near-crazy adventure is born again.
