J.K. Rowling Drops Savage Clapback After Being Called 'The Cure'

Rowling has proved over and over again that her chill level is almost nonexistent once there is drama. The Harry Potter author tweeted the screenshot of a person claiming she was “the cure” for asexuals: “All these years, I didn’t know I was the cure,” she wrote with a prayer-hands emoji as if to bless the internet with her sarcasm.

The tweet took a life of its own igniting wildfire reactions, some funny, others heated, and some quite weird. Buckle up, let’s break it down.

The first ones are the supporters. Nicoletta Tavella hit her with a classic “Hahaha you are THE BEST. 😹” while another user, anna, came through with the quip that “He has a thing for you. Seems to talk about YOU all the time 🤣🤣🤣”. Then John T., after going on a tangent into gender discourse, went on to say, “If only we had one of those for genders…” with a link. How subtle.

Not everyone was laughing though. Different user, Jordan Rodway, came charging back with “‘Cure’ that one word speaks volumes. God, you are sick. I’m counting the days until you turn on bisexuals then gays, then lesbians.” Oof. Meanwhile, Royal Rabbit upped it once again to, “They keep on attacking because they know they will never be a real woman! The lies must torment them so much!” Scorching discourse.

Meanwhile, there were these random digressions. Juice Bigalow said, “You get all those asexuals hot and bothered”; Carol dragged someone’s eyebrows: “He is such a tool. Those eyebrows of his are begging to leave that fivehead he has. 🤣.” And Edwina was somewhat in it too: “It’s like saying Trump can have a brain!”.

It was probably the wildest variety of takes. For instance, one user, Will, casually mentioned living next to Rowling: “I think J.K. lives modestly well… near a superb beach 😆.” Roger Dengler asked her, “Are you your own class of fetish?,” while Christian Gavrila said her tweet was “the best oxymoron today.”

Then then we heard from Angry Mamma Bear, who was not budging on: “I stand with JK Rowling to protect biological women’s rights.” Things started to get pretty messy right there in the replies-more than ever before-some supporting her while some were dragging and others popping in simply for chaos.

But the kicker is: apart from this tweet, Rowling never commented again. That was a mic drop, and she’s left the internet to bear the rest. Love her or hate her, there is one thing sure-she makes noise on the internet. And honestly, the responses were nearly as entertaining as the tweet itself.

So, what’s the moral? Perhaps that Twitter is simply a lawless wasteland where even a sarcastic comment by a billionaire author becomes a full-blown culture war. Or maybe just that people need to actually get out and touch grass. Either way, Rowling wins-because once again, everybody’s talking about her.
