In speculation, he-packed some of those skills beyond the mere act of acting in front of the World Series Poker Dealer’s Choice Event. Then, the veteran actor gave a sort of update on his progress in the contest, saying, “I am currently sitting in 63rd position out of the 124 remaining players with a chip count of 99k”. The event began with 597 players; the cutoff for cash is 90 players, with the eventual champion getting away with $150,245.50 and a gold bracelet.

Being an enthusiast of poker over the years: Woods has long been cast playing a gangster in ‘Casino’ and an associate in ‘Once Upon a Time in America.’ Almost immediately after the actor tweeted about the contest, reactions started pouring in: congratulatory, joking, and unsolicited poker tips.
Day Two of Dealer’s Choice Event at the World Series of Poker. Out of 597 players, 124 are left. I’m currently in 63rd place with 99,000 chips. It pays 90 places, with first place winning $150,245.50 and a gold bracelet. pic.twitter.com/jxWwxW2j2p

One person quipped, “Is a year of Netflix included as well?”- alluding to the almost random nature of poker prizes. Another chimed in: “Good luck! I did take your stack at Foxwoods years ago. True story!” If true, this could be the start of some great trash talk.
But that tone was not shared by all. “Gambling is a terrible addiction, like alcohol and drugs: it has ruined so many lives. Especially coming from you and your sublime portrayal of Bill W. Please don’t glorify it.” This comment is pretty ironic, considering Woods plays Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, in the TV movie My Name Is Bill W.
Others focused on the strategy. “Play tight, and super aggressive when you enter a hand,” was the advice from one poker player, who would then proceed to explain his reasoning for his pre-flop, flop, turn, and river decisions. Another poster commented: “Keep grinding. Great point to change up to a more aggressive approach.”
Woods has yet to respond to any of the comments-incidentally, probably too busy playing. But the encouragement, nostalgia, even concern, show how much his presence at the table really means to people.
The World Series of Poker is one of the most prestigious in gambling, bringing in professionals, celebrities alike. Woods has played in the past, and his updates give the fans a glimpse into this high-stakes and high-pressure world of competitive poker. Woods is enjoying this, whether he makes the final table or he doesn’t.
Well, if he does not have the bracelet yet, at least he is not losing the shirt…yet.
Then some responses gave vibes as one user wrote, “Good luck sir, give your best and have fun!” followed by a string of emojis. Sometimes in Vegas, all you need is a little luck and a lot of hype.
As the tournament continues, all eyes will be glued to Woods’ performance to see if he can climb higher in the hierarchy, no matter whether he’s bluffing his way up or he’s going for it. One thing is certain-Woods definitely knows how to keep things interesting.

Is he going to win that fairy tale and snag the gold? Well, if not, it’s just a matter of time unless a few well-timed all-ins have something to say first. The one thing that is sure is that with Woods, it’s always an enormous fun time.
