Jimmy Carr Tours Isle Of Man And Fans Have Thoughts On The Bee Gees Statue

A post-master-class moment with Jimmy Carr, who just finished here at Villa Marina, Isle of Man. And boy, did the internet have much to say about the post and, in particular, the Bee Gees statue. The comedian has graciously given us an atmospheric shot of the island coastline, topped with a bronze tribute to the legendary disco trio, all the real fun happening in comments!

Talk about a mood: blue skies, blue sea, with a cruise ship sailing in the scenic background there. The Bee Gees brothers, life-sized, are smack in the center and looking chill and suave. Unlike any other artist, Jimmy Carr left his knitted face somewhere in a corner staring back as a weird inside joke.
But the greatest thing was in the comments. One commenter popped in a question about Jimmy’s infamous British Museum gig, to which another replied, “U probably gonna get that answer on the show the worst and gayest way😂😂😂😂so book the next show…Classic.”
Then, the guy dropped this bomb: “I never knew the Bee Gees were born in the IoM. My mam was as well. She wasn’t in the Bee Gees though.” Like, alright, cool flex? Another was so shocked to find out that the statue existed that they yelped, “The Gibbs have a STATUE!?! Glorious!” Then another from Brisbane confirmed, “Weird. There’s a similar sculpture of the Bee Gees here in Brisbane.” Looks like the brothers are being immortalized internationally.
More wins: “My mate, Matt, has a mate who’s mum’s claim to fame is giving a Bee Gee a B.J on a beach before they got famous.” Replies were just a tsunami of crying-laughing emojis, and another one said, “Ain’t that a mouth full!”
Some could not take any part in that shameful laughathon. One person went in a totally different direction, politically, “More fundraising for the murder machine. Any gigs lined up to help starve a population?” Those were harsh words. Another attendee came away with mixed feelings about the show itself: “Excellent show. Fuckin’ horrendous crowd.”
The wildest of reactions are always attracted to the tour updates of Jimmy, and this one was no different. Random Bee Gees trivia, dubious crowd reviews, very specific claims about pre-fame beach encounters that make no sense at all; the comments always pull through.
There are some dates put up for anyone who wants to view him in the flesh. Go check the link in his bio! Maybe don’t ask about the British Museum gig if you’re ready for an answer.
