Jodie Comer gave everyone another reason to hit that fast double tap on the feed. The star of Killing Eve dropped a cryptic photo teasing her involvement in the upcoming 28 Years Later, and the Internet has been raving over her latest look.

The black-and-white photograph depicts Comer looking right at the camera with an intense gaze “don’t mess with me”-kind of vibe. She tagged the official 28 Years Later movie account along with her glamour team; stylist Danielle Goldberg, makeup artist Naoko Scintu, hair stylist Cyd Wood, and nail artist Maki Sakamoto. A caption would seem irrelevant to me with that kind of fierceness, but that lone brown heart emoji is driving folks up the wall.
This is Comer’s first-ever official post related to the long-anticipated sequel to 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later. While her character remains a mystery, don’t for a moment think that scowl was that of a damsel in distress. Hell, having completely owned the character of Villanelle in Killing Eve, we expect nothing less from Comer than another iconic performance.
One fan comments: “Flock of birds sister sister,” which either cryptically refers to Comer’s upcoming role or is just a compliment of the aesthetics. Either way, it’s all the real excitement. Back in 2002, and feeling old already, 28 Days Later began the making of a sequel that had physically taken decades. With Danny Boyle returning to direct, and Alex Garland back to writing alongside Comer, this surely stands a chance to be all-guns-blazing biggest horror release of 2025.
Ever since Killing Eve concluded, Comer has been busy with various big releases like The Last Duel and the upcoming tennis drama, The Bikeriders. However, that 28 Years Later role somehow feels different altogether-there might be that intensity in her eyes, or just the thought of her back in a genre film. Nevertheless, interest is officially piqued.
Celebrations to the styling team as well! Sleek hair, flawless makeup, and perfect nails. Jodie has really pulled off quite a few stylish moments in the past, but this minimalist black and white look brings a whole new vibe. It just screams, “I’ll survive a zombie apocalypse in style!”
While still waiting for more details on 28 Years Later (read: release date), this teaser serves as a painful tease to keep us all hungry. For now. But seriously, get us a trailer, please. A zombie movie starring Jodie Comer is everything we didn’t really know we needed.

Basically, the original 28 Days Later redefined the whole zombie genre with the idea of rampaging fast infected, so the bar’s set pretty high for this sequel. With Comer on board, though, we’re pretty much betting that it all will have been worth the wait. That is, if we survive the wait, to begin with. Might even have to rewatch the original two movies for prep. Or just stare some more at this photo. Both are acceptable alternatives.
