Kyle Rittenhouse Posts Boating Pic And Twitter Loses It

Kyle Rittenhouse, the controversial figure who got acquitted for a high-profile self-defense case, sparked yet another round of strong-outburst reactions after posting what seemed to be a benign photo. The tweet simply read, “Boats and nods, what more can you ask for?!” with the accompanying photo of him standing on a boat, quickly turning into the new battleground.

One reaction was utter hostility with a pinch of sarcasm wishing harm to Rittenhouse; the other side came to his defense. One especially harsh reply came from a user going by G: “Can’t wait till this loser dies so I can piss on his grave.” Another user with a handle at the time of Chaps II commented, “I really hope you die a slow brutal death.”
Of course, there were not all violent replies; some went for a gallows humor kind including one asking, “A reenactment of the Titanic?” Others were rather political, calling Rittenhouse a “serial killer enjoying life now.”
The conversation then got weird when Mustard_Tiger02 decided to toss in some skate trick explanations. To wit: ʻHere’s a tre flip. It’s a skateboarding trick involving a 360-degree rotation of the board while in the air.ʼ Oddly out of place among the fiery discourse.
Pro-Rittenhouse commenters responded with J.R. Franklin stating vigorously, “He killed 0 Black people,” while another chimed in with the terse, “Nods but with four barrels,” probably referring back to the initial tweet’s mention of “nods”—likely slang for guns.
The tweet also reignited the debate about the shootings in Kenosha in 2020, with some users posting memes and trial clips. Another proceeded to share a photo of a wailing protester with the caption, “Your face when the verdicts were read out,” definitely mocking the ones who did not like the acquittal of Rittenhouse.
In spite of all the negativity, Rittenhouse seemed unruffled and continued to chat casually away with his followers. The post was rather innocuous: a guy on a boat. Yet, anything he posts would set off a controversy because of his controversial existence in history.
The reactions hence serve as a testament to how deeply divided public opinion is regarding Rittenhouse himself. For some, he is the symbol of self-defense and justice. For others, he spells unbridled vigilantism. One thing everyone agrees on: the minute he goes online, the debate is ongoing.
