Lady Gaga Calls Out Lip Syncers After Coachella Mic Malfunction

Having a gentle toss, Lady Gaga cooled the rumor by making a joke about a moment when her microphone decided not to cooperate for a bit. Well, the pop diva recovered pretty fast from that little glitch by teasing the audience, “I’m sorry my mic was broken for a second… At least you know I sing live.” The internet went bonkers. Wasn’t that a dig at other entertainers? Many of the responses seem to suggest that.

This was just a sprinkle from Pop Base, while people were reading between lines. User @JUSTHERE1133 simply called it: “The Beyoncé shade??” But even worse followed- @popalgebra alleged that Gaga was “trolling Lisa [Blackpink] and Jennie as they are famous for lipsyncing.” Ouch. K-pop stans really got annoyed, though; our favorite interpreters would be allergic to singing live,” fired back @jajjangmyeong at the critics. There was fan war.
Then the two worlds of K-pop fandom clashed together with no mercy. Enter Beyhive fans, who joined in with @THEE_PINKVENOM to shut down any mention of Beyoncé: “Trying to sneak Beyoncé in here lmao. We both know she sings live and she ends EVERYONE.” Swifties weren’t spared, either- @Imswifted13 defended Taylor saying, “Taylor Swift don’t lip sync. Although her vocals are not top tier, she never tried to lip sync.” Receipts here, out there.
Responses fired events more. @ViolinzViolinz said that Gaga was throwing shade at Nicki Minaj while @elitistbarb came up with “She’s shading that HYBE girl group.” The theories kept rolling in because apparently, a single mic malfunction can lead to not one but more than a hundred conspiracy theories.
Okay, granted, not everyone was hostile. Some just wanted to appreciate her humor like @PreciousFo21638, who tweeted, “We know that Gaga since day one,” with a heart emoji for good measure. But chaos was almost the true tone of virtually all the other replies.
I mean, was Gaga even throwing shade at anyone? Maybe. Or maybe it was just some lighthearted banter regarding the mic flub. Either way, people go nuts on Twitter about who does and does not sing live. Honestly? That’s the kind of drama we live for.

There’s no denying that this Coachella mic drama may well have just inducted this pop culture incident into the hall of fame for week-messiest events ever. And there’s nothing bad about that.
