Logan Paul spoke his mind about Cena’s character changes in WWE, asserting that Cena is trying far too hard to win back crowd acceptance, from his viewpoint, in a clip from the IMPAULSIVE show. That particular moment erupted into online debates; Paul half questions Cena’s legitimacy or almost hints at an alleged mid-life crisis afflicting the wrestling legend.

In essence, what Paul is lamenting is the sudden re-emergence of Cena as a babyface over that long spell being a heel. “The switch up back to trying to be a babyface makes me feel like he’s seeking outside validation. It feels like to me we’re watching a midlife crisis happen,” Paul said. He added some spice, saying Cena was “being puppeted by the powers that be” instead of just going with his own flow.

Of course, the Internet will weigh in. Some were in agreement with Paul: “I totally agree with Logan… And the crowd went back to chanting for Cena immediately.. makes no sense,” said one user. Then the typical loyalist chimed in, “No Logan you’re nothing compared to THE CENA… He has a fan base that you never have and never will.” Ouch itself.

The irony in some comments would be too hard to miss. “Logan Paul’s whole entire existence is seeking validation lol,” wrote a user. Another added, “Funny thing is Logan Paul does the same thing in real life.” It is quite enlightening.

Some fans went in an entirely different direction and embraced part of Cena’s existence while still attacking finer points of the storyline. “Cena doesn’t need validating, he’s already the GOAT,” another comment read. “The heel turn was crap and we all know it.”

Then others just dismissed it all with an “It’s a bloody script mate.” Could not argue with that.

This back-and-forth is representative of a weird tension that exists between old-school wrestling loyalty and this new wave of celebrity involvement in WWE. Paul, who has won over some skeptics by actually being in the ring, isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers-even if it means calling out one of the most beloved wrestling figures in history.

Whatever any of you want to say-always has been-whether Paul has a point or just enjoys stirring the pot-this conversation is not going away anytime soon. And that might just be what he wanted.
