Megyn Kelly Sparks Debate Over Bill Belichick’s Relationship Drama

More than a little steamy, Megyn Kelly had brought her show into the interview discussing Bill Belichick’s affair with a much younger girlfriend. The bubbly viral clip featuring Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy has since got the internet chattering A LOT about it.

Portnoy described it as “awkward,” noting the large age gap of about 50 years between Belichick and his girlfriend who is just 24. He threw in something about her being the real puppet master, discounting the idea that “Hard Knocks” was going to feature North Carolina, where Belichick has been rumored to get down. Portnoy found the whole scene bizarre as it differed from the Belichick who normally avoided media and the no-nonsense management style.

But, to be honest, the online reactions were nothing more than awkwardness. Some utterly didn’t care. James Studley said it well, “So what? It’s nothing but pointless fluff from the National Enquirer.” Claude Riggin asked upfront, “Who gives a damn about Belichick or his girlfriend?” Well said, but clearly… many people do, as the responses kept coming.

There were also people mocking Portnoy for hypocrisy. Justin Biebighauser returned with, “Does Portnoy have room to talk much about age gaps in relationships? Typically, his is over 20 years.” Jack went even harder with past controversy: “Quite the commentary coming from a middle-aged man who flew underage girls across state lines to his beach house on Nantucket just to choke them out.” Yikes.

Others were worried for the actual dude. Jeff Scott characterized him as “really a strange dude” and added, if UNC would be smart about it, it would “show him the door.” Meanwhile, apparently, sorted irony by Linda Blais, “For a football coach who always preached ‘ignore the noise,’ he sure has a lot of noise in his life right now.”

Then, of course, there were all these random road turns, such as CubaCharles2 throwing in, “Why does Megyn Kelly not talk about her husband ‘looking’ at other men?” Wait, what? That came outta nowhere.

Some folks came for Belichick’s girlfriend. AG mentioned, “She doesn’t seem to trust media. I can go with that.” And GG chimed in, “I’d rather listen to her than Belichick; he’s always struck me as rude, abrasive, and unfriendly.”

There really is no question about the business this is concerning: Celia Lauer hit it on the head: “What business would it be to know this man’s in business? Who would he screw around with anyhow?”

This, however, is the whole drama drip: gossip food, to nibble at while waiting for the real sports meat. Juicy drama or entire waste of time, only one thing is clear: Belichick’s love life is now for public debate. And Megyn Kelly? She got people talking, even if half the responses would just be roasting her guest. So, yeah. That happened. Now back to your regularly programmed schedule.
