Michael B. Jordan’s ‘SINNERS’ First Look Sparks Wild Reactions

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are back for “SINNERS”, and the first look has melted minds. According to DiscussionsFilm, the image thus released has Jordan going serious into the minds of himself pretty much all-in with some trippy, stained-glass window vibes behind. Is it going to be a vampire flick? A hauntingly suggestive supernatural thriller? Who knows, but conversation’s underway on the internet already.

First up, this hype train is rolling strong: “This movies gonna be INSANE,” says DxTCinema, with Barry Bufano going, “One of my most anticipated movies for the year.” Even the sceptical have already taken a little glimpse: KMxVIXEN is saying, “This just might be good.” And then there is Oxy who simply said, “I need this more than air.” A bit dramatic? Maybe. But hey, this is Michael B. Jordan, peeps, in a Ryan Coogler joint–expectations are up high.

Not everyone is sold on this one, however. Chillguy1 throws the harshest take: “Overrated ACTOR!!! The movie looks like SH!T.” Ouch. That’s given to FistPunchSkull as well, who once again called Jordan “overrated” and opened a little debate in the replies: MajorsFan saying, “U bouta get hate for this take but I agree,” and the retaliation of FistPunchSkull in his own two-way: “These chumps don’t want to get schooled.” ForlornHope09, on the other hand, is keen not on the visuals: “Look so fake even AI can generate a better poster.” Harsh.

Now, in addition to that, it doesn’t even tell what this movie really is. Pryme_XI seems to have a whole theory: “This gotta be Stack. The quiet one, wears blue. Smoke wears red, laughs all the time. He eventually gets bitten and becomes a vampire.” Okay?? Katongo Mumba is out here, though, comparing it to “Abraham Lincoln’s Vampire Hunter” and calling that about as perfect as a vampire movie could get. Random, but respect the passion.

Some are simply confused. Debayo_xx thought it was a romance film (??), which provoked Noblesse to roast them: “Horror. WTF did you get romance 😂.” And ZpeedyCryptoSol said, “Thought it was Crew 3.” No kidding, same energy.

The stained-glass aesthetic is thus divisive. Homie Santo calls it “kinda like a painting,” while Jerrell’s just cruising it along: “Have no idea what it’s about but just looks like it’s going to be a really big movie!” RealRenk, however, isn’t feeling it: “‘Sinning doesn’t look so fun.’”

And then there is MajorsFan mourning what could have once been. “Still wish [Jonathan] Majors could have been in this movie.” Too soon man. Too soon.

Now, what this sums up to? It has begun already stirring the pot of doom: “SINNERS” doesn’t even have a trailer cut out yet. Whatever masterpiece or misfire, one sure thing is that it will be talked about. And hey, if half the replies are any indication, we are definitively in for a ride.
