Mindy Kaling Reveals The Wild Nicknames Her Enemies Call Her

There is currently another insane viral post by Mindy Kaling from her Instagram. The actress and writer released her cryptic updation that read, “You don’t want to know what my enemies call me,” and, trust me, the internet exploded with opinions.

First of all, nicknames. The trajectory of her career is quite wild, from The Office to The Mindy Project; the internet would have certainly had variations to choose from. “You missed,” Kelly to practically EVERYONE on the planet,” someone wrote, referring to her iconic character as Kelly Kapoor. Another one reads, “You’ll always be Kelly the Business B,” which seemed to ring true.

Those are pretty deep. One person wrote in saying “Malala to the confused old man,” referring to an inside joke within the show The Mindy Project where often there are confusions between Mindy’s character and Malala Yousafzai. Classic situation. Then, one fan placed in ‘Beyoncé Pad Thai’ which is probably the highest level of Mindy wit—absurd, random, and weirdly fitting.

But The Mindy Project comment thread is really the star of this. ‘Mindy Lahiri to The Mindy Project fans’ said someone, and then a whole lovefest broke out over the reply. ‘Best show ever. Never gets old,’ said one person; others would claim to have watched it ‘countless times.’ Someone even bragged that the real Mindy Project Twitter followed him or her, calling that one of his ‘proudest accomplishments.’ That sums up the mood.

Then there is the Dartmouth sideline. A user under the name menderfull commented, “This is perfection. ‘Other Mindy’ to me and Mindy ’02 from Dartmouth as we fangirled so hard as soon as we saw the light.’” “@menderfull” That means they actually went to college with Mindy. At this point, replies exploded with all the shock.

Then you have the Chloe Silverado mention. That name is an immediate call to one of Mindy’s craziest (and greatest) moments for a real fan. The reply was a beautiful mix of nostalgia and inside jokes. Someone responded, “Weigh me, you son of a B,” which-if-you-know-you-know.

Of course, a Mindy Kaling post would never come to be attributed without mentioning BJ Novak. One person actually said, “But who are you to @bjnovak ???” because really, how will that friendship (or whatever it is) ever be explained.

The whole thing also gave love to the audiobook by Mindy, with one person writing that they had ‘crying from laughter’ while listening. Oh really? Same. The sarcasm is unmatched.

Pretty much the whole thing was just another reminder as to why people adore Mindy Kaling. It is by her ability to take any ridiculous nickname and make it fashionable, be it Kelly Kapoor or Mindy Lahiri or just being her crazy self. Really! And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
