Misha Collins Jokes About German Tourists Being Invasive But It’s Actually Geese

A recently occurring delightfully awkward scene unfolded in Düsseldorf with Misha Collins, better known as Castiel from Supernatural, visiting the city. The actor tweeted that these over-enthusiastic German tourists couldn’t give him his privacy. No such luck, though; these relentless pursuers were actually geese.

The online clip showed Collins walking near what seemed to be a park with the gang of geese right on his heels. The actor seemed amused and perplexed now and again, and he addressed the birds as if they were rowdy fans, “I know you want a picture with me, but I technically have to live my life here,” he waved the birds off. “I can’t just be constantly mugging for the camera for your family back home.”

The clip has since gone viral and followed by another wave of visitors and fans telling their own bring-your-own-umbrella-bird tales. One little kid said, “Those are Canada geese, Mish!” while the other one ominously advised, “Darling, don’t provoke the cobra chickens…” A broadly accepted name for Canadian goose, mainly due to their ferocious territorial attitude and method of confounding spaces generally meant for unwinding.

Some others excelled more, with one laughingly saying, “At least this isn’t following you Misha……” alongside a photo of a larger bird. Another joked, “You need to come down to NZ Misha….our ducklings are very chill…..promise.”

Also, oddly enough, Collins’ rant set off that bit of a discussion regarding cultural differences and personal space. A German fan remarked, “The people in the background must be thinking, ‘What the—is that freaking Misha Collins??’” Following up, another playfully scolded him for chasing down the geese despite telling them to back off.

Though it was funny, he did get some serious advice from a local. One warned him in German, roughly translated as: “Be careful. Egyptian geese can be quite aggressive, especially when they have young ones. Enjoy Düsseldorf, Misha.”

Polluted by incidences of its kind, Collins went along with the comedic show that is life itself and turned a run-of-the-mill annoyance into a laugh-out-loud moment for the world to share. That is one reason why his followers love him so much- either he can take down supernatural tries for the stage or can go up against real-life geese.

There once more and again reminded the fact that the famous indeed sometimes have trouble with wildlife, just like any common person. While Collins was momentarily upset with the geese, his fans assured him that, much like overzealous admirers, geese are really part of the public experience.
