MTV Asks Whose Music Makes You Lose Control And The Answers Are Wild

Quick questions on Instagram tend to throw us off. Here MTV casually posted, “Tell me, whose discography has you acting like this?” with a mouth-away emoji and a video credit to Getty Entertainment. No artist was tagged, not even a clue in the post-the comment section went crazy, with people rushing to name those musicians who we believe drive them insane. And oh, those responses; good ones.

Taylor Swift, in multiple instances, was probably the go-to vibe for a lot of users. Someone said, “TayTay is the correct answer!!” with heart hands emojis, while another named her alongside Blackpink and Rosé-a statement that would likely unite Swifties with K-pop stans. But the pop queens were not alone on the throne. There arose names of heavy-hitters such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears, with a fan going as far as calling them the holy trinity of music that still hits different.
Then came the wildcards. One person really backed FLETCHER’s “Would You Still Love Me” and Renee Rapp’s “Sometimes” on their list of favorite anarchies, while another went all-in on Reneé Rapp’s album and called “Bite Me” the best thing out right now. Talk about classy randomness! Afterward, they shouted out Dua Lipa’s “Happy For You,” while another just threw Chap and Gaga out there for no reason.
The real curveball: Somebody totally ignoring the question about music and joking about spoilers with “set pic is basically the whole film minus Anne Hathaway’s side-eye.” Like… what? That wasn’t even in the same universe as the prompt, but hey, chaos is chaos.
Someone else offered,”I wanna go FAST 💨 🔥,”with absolutely no context. Name of artist? None. Song that they were referring to? Nope. All raw energy. You know what? That was really the vibe.
The post had no image, yet the words were enough to conjure an image of havoc. Surely, MTV knew what they were doing-throw out a vague question and watch the internet lose its collective mind. Lose the collective mind they did; answers ranged from predictable favorites to completely left-field examples.
What you can gather is that music hits people differently. Some will have told the same stories from classical; some will go with whatever is trending, and then there are others who just kind of yell into the void with absolutely no clued-in selves. The one thing from this interaction which is certain is: When you ask the internet to name their musical obsessions, better prepare yourself for utter chaos.

Those who were wondering about the crown holder? Well, no contest, Taylor Swift. But the one who really took the cake was MTV, proving once again that all you ever need is a simple question followed by watching the weird internet antics.
