Netflix pulled out the biggest nostalgia trigger ever with the in-the-moment promo of the century! The lighthearted little sketch inside the Netflix break room had Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean and Nick Carter joking about their last days as boy bands and teasing their respective shows of “Building The Band” and “Perfect Match: Season 3.” Puns and callbacks all the way down with a final surprise cameo from Lance Bass of ‘NSYNC for the fans to go crazy.

AJ and Nick were chuckling at the awful fashion statements of the past-turtlenecks, too much hair gel-barely-a-look-at-all-except-in-the-90s-then-giddy gasps mingled with their announcement of their Netflix series. AJ’s Building The Band is a music competition where contestants try to start their groups without going face-to-face, while Nick’s Perfect Match is all about singles finding romance in the first place. The chemistry between the two is very real, and the script was so chock-full of boy band clichés that they couldn’t resist throwing in lines like “I want it that way!” and “Bye bye bye”.

The biggest plot twist happens when the camera catches Lance Bass sneaking away at a perfect time to say, “Wrong band, dude” right before that black screen. The internet ejaculated!

Fans kept pouring in their comments, with one saying, “I was NOT ready for that twist!” Another one chimed in, “This post played games with my heart!” Those comments took a trip down memory lane, with many reminiscing about their middle school days. One remarked, “Thank you Netflix for making my middle school dreams come true.”

Lance Bass took over the conversation by saying, “All this and no strings? I’m sat, Netflix 👏” and the comments almost exploded with pleas for him to now host a Netflix show. “He’d be a FANTASTIC host for a show!” one fan wrote while another half-joked about his previous Netflix gig on ‘The Circle.’

And the punny humor died a horrible death? Those daddy jokes deserved a round of applause. One fan proclaimed, “I only love cheesiness from my favorite boy bands 😆😆🙌” Another admitted, “This was so corny but cute 😂”

The promo was indeed a clear catalyst to the boyband crossovers being considered. “Now this makes me want a full boyband show with all the OGs,” one fan pondered. Another quipped, “I feel like bringing back street’s back, alright!”

Whether intentional or not, Netflix hit the procrastinating nostalgia right at the temple, showing how, through years, the boyband charisma still huge in weight. The response was overwhelmingly positive, begging for any and all worthy material that features their fave heartthrobs from ’90s.

The freshest energy of the two and the shows of Nick and AJ will come to Netflix, with ‘Building The Band’ already streaming and ‘Perfect Match: Season 3’ set to premiere on August 1. If this promo is anything like a teaser, we’re very much cooked for it.

Yeah, that was tricking the whole internet! When will the entire NSYNC and Backstreet Boys crossover actually come though?
