Paige DeSorbo Weighs In on ‘Breakup Season’ After Craig Conover Split

Summer House costars Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover are one of several celebrity couples to recently announce a split.

“It’s breakup season,” DeSorbo, 32, declared on the Tuesday, January 21, episode of the “Giggly Squad” podcast after her cohost Hannah Berner mentioned Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s breakup. “So is Jessica Alba [and Cash Warren]. So is Kaia Gerber [and Austin Butler],” she said, while Berner, 33, also mentioned Bachelor Nation’s Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James.

“Something’s in the air and women are like, ‘Hey, you know what? No,’” DeSorbo noted.

Though Berner has been married to comedian Des Bishop since 2022, she said that she’s been “loving this breakup season.” She explained, “The girls, they’re like, ‘It’s winter, and I actually just want to watch murder documentaries and fart on my own. And I don’t need someone to cuddle with.’ Cuddling? Overrated. Like, summer is fun. You’re hooking up. You’re tan. You’re making out with guys. Winter — don’t f—ing touch me.”

DeSorbo agreed with Berner’s comments, hinting that she’s been enjoying the single life so far. “I want to be wrapped in my sweatpants in a fur blanket with my fuzzy socks. And if you’re also under my same blanket, I’m going to get hot. And I don’t want to get hot,” she stated. “You know, like I have the perfect temperature right now. Get your fricking sweaty balls away from me.”

Less than one month after Conover denied breakup rumors, DeSorbo confirmed that she and her fellow Bravo star had called it quits after three years of dating. “Craig and I have decided to no longer be together,” she shared on the December 30, 2024, episode of the “Giggly Squad” podcast. “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends.”

Despite calling Conover “one of the best people I’ve met in my entire life,” the Bravostar said the split was “the right decision for [the] both of us.”

Conover broke his silence on the breakup in a January 7 Instagram Story statement, writing, “[It happened] right before the holidays. I was very shocked. And it’s OK. It takes two people to be in a relationship and you can’t control other people, you can only control how you react to it. Remember to be kind to Paige and me and yourselves and all of that good stuff.”

One day after their breakup news broke, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Conover was “really pushing for the next steps and wanted to settle down with her,” but being long distance made things difficult. “Paige does not want to move to Charleston, and logistically it was never going to work out long term,” the insider said of DeSorbo, who resides in New York City. “Many of their friends are not shocked at all, but everyone is sad for them.”

Since the split, DeSorbo has said she “died laughing” after rumors spread online that she cheated on Conover with Saturday Night Live star Marcello Hernandez. “I just texted him. I was like, ‘Hey, just want to let you know, there was a rumor going around that I cheated on my boyfriend with you,’ and he was just like, ‘F— yeah,’” she said on the January 7 episode of her and Berner’s podcast. “I was like, ‘Marcello, I’m so f—ing sorry. This is so embarrassing.’ And no one involved was defending me, which I found interesting.”
