Pierre Gasly Loses It In Hilarious LEGO F1 Race

A little viral clip of Pierre Gasly laughing hysterically over a LEGO car race endeared him with everyone. Posted on Twitter via the official F1 account, it shows Gasly in stitches during a miniature LEGO car race. So, elite drivers do actually lose it when they see silliness.

It shows how contagious Gasly’s laughter was, as he desperately tried to keep his tiny LEGO car on track!” Pierre’s intensity in reaction was that of a conscientious racer going for a podium finish. An unusual way to enter in an F1 ad break, and they were just asking for more.

One user commented, “He’s used to losing races,” alluding to Gasly’s struggles on track for real. Another one remarked, “The only difference is that my nan will stop pressing the accelerator when she’s laughing,” likening him to their grandmother playing Mario Kart.

The LEGO race clearly brought out the silly side in the drivers. “Most drivers enjoyed the LEGO race more than the actual race,” said one commenter. And honestly? Fair enough!

Some replies were a little bit heartwarming. “Seeing them in such joy driving against each other underscores how much a pressure cooker the Grand Prix are.” It’s true-these guys work crazy pressure situations, so watching them lose it for something so silly was so nice.

Other comments weren’t quite so charitable: One cracked, “Pierre Gasly is so used to losing that all he can do is laugh.” Another referenced Jack Doohan’s less-than-stellar performance: “Jack Doohan’s fastest lap at Miami.” Ouch.

That was one of the best things about this: The sheer randomness. An inquisitive user actually asked, “Who’s the passenger?” because seriously, why did a tiny LEGO figure ride shotgun in Gasly’s car?

FIA freaks, or people who simply love watching grown beings going bonkers, would agree that this clip was pure gold; after all, every LEGO run ought to be paired with a real Grand Prix. At least nobody’s getting DNF’d over a plastic brick.

Pierre Gasly’s laughter made it the best F1 occasion in weeks. Who would have known that it would take one tiny car and zero briefcase stakes for these gents to act like children all over again?
