Stephen Baldwin Posts Cryptic Video With Repetitive Message

Stephen Baldwin left his followers confused while posting to Instagram with a repetitive video and an equally confusing caption. It shows him fast-forwarded over 50 times, over and over again, saying “Don’t worry” sometimes with the filler words “to God.” The transcription would be an incredibly off-kilter record on loop with spiritual reassurance.

Oddly enough, the strange clip came with a weird caption full of hashtags, emojis, and some sort of promotion link for a project:
“#simple #friends on #Sunday as we know #laughter is best medicine #Enjoy #OneBadMovie (CLICK HERE 4 FUN) #StephenBaldwin #blessed #weekend thanks for all likes, clicks shares & subscribes ‘Don’t worry be happy…’”
Comments roared with support and confusion. One user said, “Yes so good! And so true,” as if the commenter accepted and respected Baldwin’s thoughts, and also placed religious symbols to further validate them; another ventured farther into the spiritual realm with a ridiculously lengthy extended blessing concerning “eternal holy light.” One observed, “This guy is so weird” and another, “Get real or fuck off,” shone the light on Baldwin.
There were nostalgic comments as some mused-it was the late father’s favorite song, while others begged anyone to name the movie Baldwin might be referencing. Fashion police were not far behind with harping from someone, “Dude, those glasses gotta go,” in reference to Baldwin’s eyewear in the video.
Others kept the comedy going with lines equating Baldwin to lesbians and one person claiming he was the individual who “drank the entire pitcher of Koolaid.” The most inventive comedy came, claiming that Baldwin was “one step away from the complete transformation into a woman.”
Which, funny enough, incited a sideways comparison with an indirect reference to another member of the famous Baldwin clan when someone once tagged his daughter Hailey Bieber to come snag her daddy “on a cloud.” Garnering over 1,000 likes so far, hinting that Confusing celebrity madness does pull an audience.
Baldwin has been hitting the social network circuit hard for years, especially with regular injections of religion and politics fused next to more typical displays of celebrity presence. The complication of spiritualism with show business in this latest entry of his online diary ends up confounding quite a bit of his audience. So was it a joke, some high spiritual reasoning, or just outright random social-networking weirdness? Whatever it was, it has gotten people talking, though half of those talking are staring blank with confusion at the screen wondering exactly what they’re seeing.
The video comes even during these days when Baldwin has been making the news with outspoken conservative views defending Donald Trump. Some speculated among his devotees that the repetitive “don’t worry” message might be related to the present political tension, although there was no evidence from Baldwin himself backing such an assertion. Many, however, simply see it as another example of that actor’s eccentric online persona, which grows rather loud with every passing year.
Perhaps more than anything else, what leaves the post among surreal is the lack of any context for such a bizarrely repetitive video. It tells you nothing at all about whether Baldwin is quoting something or refers to a project or is simply amusing himself with his phone’s recording function. The promotional link to something in the caption would shed some light on some possible commercial intent, yet the link between the odd video and the product or content he could be promoting remains unknown.
Among the comments, you will find some earnest spiritual-supporting comments clashing with the weirdness in brutal confrontations, turning the comment section into a realm of itself. Such polarized reactions are common with Baldwin’s exploits on social media, where the actor mixes his acting career with his staunchly religious and political views in a way that doesn’t sit well with his variegated audience.

Some Hollywood stars carefully craft their online persona for hours; it seems Baldwin is instead going for a stream of consciousness sort of approach when it comes to his social media presence; at least, he continues to differ starkly in his latest post. Leaving the followers to puzzle over whether what they are looking at is truly profound wisdom, a modern form of performance art, “or just a famous person messing around on the internet”? Either way, it’s content hard to ignore-even if you’re not quite sure what it is that you’re looking at.
