SZA Shouts Out Doechii In Brooklyn And People Have Thoughts

It was this buzz-worthy Brooklyn energy given by SZA in the hype-for-a-fellow-artist Doechii tweet. The loud attempt went, “Hellooooooooo BROOOKLYNNNN WADDUPP DOECHII BABYYYYY,” and the internet went wild. There were those who loved that shout-out; there were those who questioned it; there were even some who asked why their own cities were left out.

First: the energy! “I’d be LIT! That’s the combination! SZA x Doechii!!” said one person, accompanying the statement with a flame emoji for emphasis. Another one went on to say, “Always really appreciated the way TDE artists support each other. And it always feels genuine!” For those unaware, TDE is Top Dawg Entertainment, the company both these artists are signed with-and thus, all the embrace. So not everybody was digging the love though.
Someone just said, “She’s wack asf,” which…okay, harsh. The climax rose when someone started questioning why Doechii was being “forced on people.” This comment was the catalyst that sparked the entire drama. Several went back to replying: “Sza and Doechii are part of the same label. Wouldn’t she support her?” Reminder: “They collabed literally in 2022, and they call each other sisters.” So yeah, this ain’t some random industry plant situation—they’ve really been tight for real.
Then came the FOMO: “Bruhhh I shoulda pulled up to the after,” one lamented. Another wanted to know, “Why you didn’t pop up in Charlotte???” One more stated, “Ima need you to do LA next … WE TOO LIT.” Sorry though. SZA can’t be everywhere.
One of the funniest came right after from someone urging SZA to calm down: “Girl WTH shouldn’t u be resting?” Kind of true; she has been touring, hosting pop-ups, and promoting her own forces atop everything else. That’s a grind.
Meanwhile, the others have sworn to seize the moment: “I genuinely dont understand the people who dont fw this it really go crazy,” one tweeted. Another chimed in, “The hate is only online fr,” which may be the realest thing said all day.
So what really ended up happening? SZA threw out the shout-out, some of the people loved it, some did not, and a million others started demanding she comes to their city. Classic internet blackout moment. But one thing for sure, in any case, always is going to be a talking point anytime these two get together, whether are on a record or just shout-outs; so, who’s ready for that next one?

And much love to whoever was gutsy enough to sneak in their own promo beneath SZA’s tweet. Bold. Failed. But bold.
