A suspect was sentenced for murdering children at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in the U.K. last summer. According to the Associated Press, 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana was sentenced to 52 years in prison, with a judge referring to the incident as “the most extreme, shocking and exceptionally serious crime.” Rudakubana was 17 at the time of his arrest, meaning that he could not be sentenced to life without parole. The stabbing took place in Southport, England, in July 2024 and led to the deaths of three children under the age of 10. Rudakubana was charged for the three murders and faced 10 additional charges of attempted murder and one count of possession of a bladed article. Swift was not officially associated with the event, but she addressed the tragedy in a public statement. “These were just little kids at a dance class.
