Toni Collette took to social media to spill the magical experiences of her trip to Bangkok, Thailand. The internet fell in love with this colorful post. The actress, who has brought intensity to roles in movies such as Hereditary and The Sixth Sense, posted a few pictures that mirrored the heart and soul of her trip, along with a heartfelt caption: “Bangkok. Awesome. Flower market heavy. Temples. Tuk tuks. Delicious food. The sweetest people. I’d never held a lotus flower before,” she punctuated her excitement with a lotus flower emoji, a folded hands emoji, and the Thai flag.

The picture is a fabulous explosion of colors: Carnations in red, pink, and white shades sit atopin the spirit of Bangkok’s flower markets. The sight provided an instant urge to book a flight for kindred spirits to experience the stressful overdrive of sights, smells, and textures she had so raved about.
It was a flood of love for Thailand along the lines of account descriptions and travel memories from fans and followers. “Best City in the World,” one user ebulliently declared. Another wrote, “Isn’t Thailand delicious? It makes you feel alive!” It was hard to resist the charm as others echoed Collette’s comments about the kindness of the Thai people. Then, a little quite compassionate comment came from a parent who had just returned with their family: “We just returned to Thailand. The kindest people. We absolutely loved it. My 12-year-old son they loved, and he loved his cash and buying his Rolex lol. So many wonderful memories were made with Nanny and Poppy; the best holiday in years.”
Better became popular when unexpected references to Madonna were thrown in. Many users mentioned that one of Collette’s pictures had very explicit “Ray of Light” vibes, i.e., vibes from Madonna’s iconic 1998 music video. “Last video looks like Madonna’s Ray of Light music video ahaha,” said one fan, while another chimed in, “Last one is giving Madonna and Ray of Light! Love it and all great pics too!” A very narrow observation but enormously funny and fitting right into Collette’s cool aura.
Others jumped at the opportunity to offer travel tips like try Talat Noi for gorge cwaffee (presumably coffee, but hey, typos always make it more fun). And, of course, the inevitable casting suggestions-being Toni Collette yourself makes people want to see you in everything. “OMG! Sawasdee kaaa! You have to be in the next The White Lotus,” one excited fan exclaimed, clearly envisioning Collette infusing her unique intensity into the hit HBO show.
One thing was eminent: with the flurry of comments, the post was not merely travel diary fodder; it became a declaration of love for Bangkok, and those who followed eagerly put their signatures on it. Between the flower markets, food, and warmth of the people, something on this trip surely hit something very deep within her. Judging by all the responses, she is not alone in feeling that way about Thailand.

So should you ever require another reason to shoot Bangkok atop your bucket list, consider this your sign. And if, by any chance, you meet Toni Collette there, then it’s a bonus.
