Kattan really went and let out a boom of nostalgia with this Instagram post, which apparently heard every corner of the Internet turning back to the 1990s at once. The SNL icon posted a clip from A Night At The Roxbury, saying, “Let’s bring back boomboxes. 📻” and the whole Internet started to lose it. The scene? Classic. Kattan and Ferrell as the Butabi brothers pleasedly bobbing their heads to Haddaway’s “What Is Love” in a car with the biggest boombox known to the universe. If you haven’t seen this scene, I seriously want to know what rock you’ve been under.

Thus ensued a Roxbury reunion, with remarks scrambling the best ideas from the scores of SNL sketches or remembering their childhood Hello Kitty boombox. Another one even went on to demand a sequel wherein Kattan and Ferrell’s characters are club owners, taking over from Mr. Zadir-or maybe not the worst of ideas. There was even a person admitting that he recorded it off satellite TV at the worst quality imaginable, watching it lessthan a thousand times! Talk about commitment.

International fans joined the chorus. A Spanish comment was translated as “I promise I won’t forget this scene even in my next life,” which is oddly specific, but I can relate. Another called it SNL’s best sketch-to-movie adaptation ever, and honestly, I can’t argue with them. The Roxbury guys really were that funny.

However, the best comment? Someone actually wants this played at their funeral. Now THAT is impact.

Not much has been seen from Kattan for a while, which made the throwback a welcome surprise. The post hit home and reminded everyone that some things-the all-time distractingly funny Butabi brothers-never get old. Boomboxes or no boomboxes, nobody is ever going to stop bobbing to “What Is Love.”

Side note: If you haven’t watched A Night At The Roxbury in a while, it’s time for a re-watch. The costumes are a trip! And if you haven’t had the experience, what are you actually doing? Go watch it.

This thread opened up some light confusion, with one questioning, “What’s the name of this movie please?” Bless that person’s heart. Others chimed in to say it made their day or that they’ve had a huge crush on Kattan back in the day. Same here.

So yeah, Chris Kattan ain’t exactly churning out box office hits these days, but check me: that post just proved he’s still got it. There will forever be a soft spot on the internet for the Roxbury guys, and honestly, we’re all better for it. Now back to some head-bobbing practice.
