Joe Rogan Announces Austin Shows And Fans Have A Lot To Say

The greatest announcer that ever lived, Joe Rogan, announces ticketing for his Austin shows starting next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. A retro poster went straight to trend after the announcement. The poster uses bold colors with a retro feel to it, the kind of visual tongue-in-cheek slapping-“classic Rogan-way-do-it”: raw and unrefined, no nonsense.

But the Internet threw out commentary greater than “nice poster.” Comments ranged from pure hype to full-blown conspiracies, with a few random sidetracks thrown in, to vary the pace. Somebody had hoped that Rogan would be coming to Australia soon. Another said how Brendan Schaub is somehow following him to Texas. “I swear you left to get away from him lol,” referencing the long-standing, at times meme-worthy, relationship between the two.

Then it all went downhill. One commentor went on a passionate rant about dragons, lizard men, and Alex Jones, alleging that the “demonic alien Lizard people” are real and that Rogan ought to be aware of it. Another one was wondering what all the fuss about Lizard people is about, throwing in that Tex-Mex is “disgusting” and calling brisket “overcooked-to-death meat.” Ouch.

Not all were here for the madness. There were extreme rushes of hype for the shows. One longtime listener said that Rogan has been “HODLing the comedy game longer than I been HODLing ETH.” On the other hand, some were really not impressed and could not keep silence: “You are by far the worst stand-up comic I have ever seen,” said one critic. “You simply aren’t funny!”

Some of the better comments got pretty deep about it. One commenter accused Rogan of turning his back on corruption of governments and violations of civil liberties, tagging him into a long thread concerning whistleblowers and the battles within the law. “Every day you ignore this, you become part of the silence,” they said. Another pleaded with Rogan to shed some light on the evils of family courts and offer help to mothers fighting this corrupt system, as seen in various discussions about these issues in related posts.

In the middle of this, a selected few just wanted their tickets with some “party favors.” One attempted to slide into Rogan’s DMs with an offer (Spoiler alert: it does not work).

There will always be the debates about Rogan-being the center of love, hate, or indifference-but no one equals the ability to stir conversations, whether about comedy, conspiracies, or overcooked brisket. The Austin shows will sell out, but perhaps the real entertainment could be found in the comment section.

Would Rogan try talking about any of that on stage? Probably not. But if anything, history teaches us the talk will continue well after the show starts. And that’s the fun part anyway.
