Sofia Carson Celebrates 10 Years Of Descendants With Heartfelt Tribute

Sofia Carson certainly danced down a memory lane with this emotional post pledging the Tenth Anniversary of Disney’s Descendants. The actress who played Evie in the blockbuster franchise shared a throwback picture with such a lengthy caption that might usher in tears from most. The picture is a behind-the-scenes look at her being all Evie-blue, far from being any Disney villain child that the world fell in love with in 2015.

In her post, Sofia said the part changed her life. She called Evie her “dream come true” and then gave thanks to the whole cast and crew with special mention to Kenny Ortega for this ride. She also gave a bittersweet tribute to her screen little brother Cam (Cameron Boyce), affectionately calling him “our sunshine boy.” The Core Four got a mention, too: Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart, and Cameron Boyce. Her heart “will forever be painted Evie Blue,” Sofia said.

The chaos? People flooded the posts with reminiscing, cries, and some hilarious confessions, one of which goes on about how they had “Rotten to the Core” stuck in their head for months; I feel them. Another relief shared that her little sister started watching the movies recently. She dyed her hair purple to match Mal—except it turned blue instead, making her an accidental Evie. Then came the best goosebumps: Somebody said that they met Sofia right after the movie premiered at D23 and called her “the KINDEST HUMAN,” and have supported her ever since. Although we were receiving all this love in English, there were some followers writing in Portuguese to thank Sofia for making their childhood magical, followed by a Spanish-speaking user congratulating the movie for 10 years. Descendants has marked its name on the global scale, and with Sofia standing up almost a decade later, it shows that the fandom is alive and kicking.

What is hilarious is how many people began stating they were kids when it came out and thus having their younger siblings obsessed with it. Time so zoomed for this. And now, with Descendants being landed on Netflix, a whole brand-new generation shall get wooed.

Post-the-then, Sofia set off — Purple Hearts, anyone? — but really, Descendants will forever be holding a dear spot in her heart. And judging by the fans’ reaction, they felt exactly the same.
